The Isles of Darkness

A personal poem written by Shelby-Liza Ndumbi

I close the door

I close my eyes; I don't see you anymore

All is gone, even my smile. It's faded

I'm not sure if I can hold on

The broken twists and turns catch me at every curve

I never realize how far behind I feel; I shouldn't be here

I shouldn't feel this way

I don't need a reminder on the past clouding my mind

I don't feel lost, but unhappy that such darkness is over me

Hovering. Floating. Scratching

It won't go away since it's part of me

It won't go away since it's in my head

It won't go away since you keep reminding me
